Matthew joined Chambers after completing his pupillage with Mr. Paul C.L. Leung, Mr. Richard Donald, Mr. Derek T.L. Hu, and Professor Christopher To.

He is developing a broad practice and accepts instructions across all areas of Chambers’ work, with a particular focus in criminal matters. Matthew has obtained experience in a wide spectrum of offences across all levels of court, ranging from traffic offences, sexual offences and white collar crimes, to serious crimes such as trafficking in dangerous drugs and homicide.

Matthew is also an accredited mediator (general and sports) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. During pupillage, he assisted in various alternative dispute resolution matters, including a complex international mediation valued at over USD 300 million and a construction arbitration concerning over HKD 100 million.

Prior to joining Chambers, Matthew graduated with First Class Honours in his LLB from Royal Holloway, University of London, and subsequently completed the PCLL at the City University of Hong Kong.

胡大律師也是認可調解員 (綜合、體育) 和英國特許仲裁員協會的會員。在其實習期間，他曾協助處理多宗替代爭議解決案件，包括一宗涉及逾三億美元的複雜國際調解，以及一宗爭議金額超過一億港元的建築仲裁案件。

加入本大律師事務所之前，胡大律師以一級榮譽畢業的成績取得倫敦大學皇家哈洛威學院法律學士學位，並於香港城市大學完成法學專業證書課程。
