Gilt Chambers is a leading set of Chambers based in Hong Kong. Our Members have consistently been instructed in high-profile and groundbreaking cases, and continue to be at the forefront of legal development in the region.

Members of Gilt Chambers come from a wide array of professional backgrounds, bringing rich and varied experience to their legal practice. Some of our members are former government counsel, with substantial experience in prosecution and other public policy legal areas.

Beyond the courtroom, members of Gilt Chambers have also been appointed to judicial and statutory bodies, where they have served as chairmen or members, contributing to the governance and regulatory framework of Hong Kong.

Some members have transitioned from the technology and scientific industries into legal practice, combining technical knowledge with legal acumen.

Many of Gilt Chambers’ members have written leading legal textbooks. The founders of the chambers, Dr Gerard McCoy SC and Andrew Bruce SC are the authors of Bruce & McCoy on Criminal Evidence. Other books published by members of chambers include books on the Hong Kong Basic Law, cyber law, patent litigation and international arbitration.
