Karen H.Y. Fok

Karen is developing a broad civil and criminal practice, with a particular emphasis on commercial disputes, land law, and white-collar crime. She accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work. Karen is fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin and is capable of undertaking written and advocacy work in both English and Chinese.

 

Karen joined our Chambers upon completing her pupillage with Mr Albert Yau, Ms Manyi Tsang, Mr Franco Kuan and Mr Kalvin Chan.

Before being called to the Hong Kong Bar, Karen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she achieved first in her cohort in her second year and graduated with a First Class Honours, ranking second overall in her year. She subsequently pursued law at The University of Hong Kong, graduating in the top 10 of her class. During her time at HKU, Karen actively contributed to the Clinical Legal Education programme, collaborating with supervisors to provide pro bono legal advice to individuals in need, demonstrating her commitment to access to justice.

Karen has experience as a sole advocate in the Magistrates’ Courts, District Court, and Court of First Instance.
