Rex was called to the bar in 2025 upon successful completion of his pupillage with Mr. Harrison Cheung, Mr Danny Chan, Mr Ronald Pang and Mr Richard Leung JP.

Prior to joining the Bar, Rex had extensive experience in the construction industry ranging from civil works to minor works. Rex frequently advises on contract disputes in all tiers and takes cases in relation to both public and private construction works in litigation, arbitration, mediation and adjudication, involving GCC, NEC3 and NEC4 ECC/TSC, and various Standard Forms of Contract. He is also developing a general civil practice with particular experience in tort, probate, company, employment, land, trust and personal injury cases.

On the criminal side, he actively contributes to the defence work in a wide range of criminal cases and regulatory investigations involving the SFC. He also has substantive experience in regulatory offences, particularly handling industrial summons involving the Labour Department.

STCC 3871/2025 – mitigation – Newton hearing – successfully established special reasons for not ordering disqualification for offence of Driving without 3rd Party Insurance

WKS 20308-20313/2024 – Industrial Summons – Led by Mr Harrison Cheung, act as junior for D4 and D5 charged under sections 6A(1), 6A(2)(a) and 6A(3)(a) of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (Cap. 59). The Defendants were acquitted for all six summonses with costs.

HCAG 22201/2022 – probate – successfully opposed summons for dismissal of the application of grant of probate

HCA 2193/2025 – fraud/ tracing – successfully applied for disclosure order (under s. 21 Evidence Ordinance) against virtual accounts

DCCJ 3603/2025 – Led by Mr Tommy Cheung acting for the Defendant – successfully resisted an Order 14 appeal where the Plaintiff, a society formed pursuant to the Co-operative Societies Ordinance (Cap. 33), sought vacant possession of a squatter/ licensed structures located in Sam Mun Tsai San Tsuen
