Hannah is developing a broad civil and arbitration practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work. She has a variety of experiences in appellate work, trial work and interlocutory matters, both as a led junior and sole advocate. Her experience encompasses commercial litigation, land law, property law, personal injury and arbitration. She also has experiences providing legal opinion on HK law in PRC proceedings.

 

She is currently a member of the Standing Committee of Young Barristers. She was engaged in numerous international conferences focused on advocacy, arbitration and general legal practice, and has demonstrated herself a committed member of the bar.

 

She is fluent in Cantonese, English and Putonghua and is comfortable with drafting documents in Chinese.

Legal Opinion on HK Law in PRC Proceedings  

  • Drafted legal opinion on the enforceability of two guarantee agreement in Guangzhou Maritime Court proceedings concerning the joint and several liability of two guarantors, the limitation period of the two guarantee agreement and the priority for entitlement to the proceeds of sale.
  • Drafted legal opinion for PRC proceedings running in parallel to Hong Kong proceedings related to the issue of liability under two loan agreements (HK$40M) and two letters of undertaking governed by HK law. Discussed the implication of Hong Kong law of survivorship and the law of issue estoppel.
